Most times, writing is like a journey. You simply start with no particular destination in mind, yet you carry a strong belief and conviction that you are heading somewhere. Whether you draft outlines as a roadmap for your journey or delve straight onto the main road without looking back, it’s all the same thing. Writing, especially fiction, is a journey.

Top Scenes Behind the Scenes

Getting Inspired

One fact about writers is that we get inspired by anything and anybody. From the weirdest scenes and the most annoying people to the very best moments, we always find a way to draw inspiration and create realistic characters.

Brain Whirl

I call it brain whirl because, first off, your brain becomes a swirl of fresh ideas when inspiration strikes. Then, you struggle to calm the whirl through brainstorming before you finally settle on a clear idea.

Mapping

Whether it’s an outline, a draft, or whatever term you prefer, you set a layout for your content to ensure you don’t lose those fresh ideas.

Now, the real journey resumes as we begin to bring those ideas to life. Here, we blend the best words for the best effects, making sure it’s audience worthy.

Editing

The toughest part of the journey. I personally find it stressful and overwhelming. Having to go through thousands of words just to ensure they are error-free is not easy. Only a good and thorough editing, would determine the quality of your work.

Final Draft

At the end of the day, we smile, showcase our work, and reflect on how the journey began.

And then what ?

We go again!
